Sujet/décor :

On the lid, the Kamo Shrine, north of Kyoto, set among sugi (cryptomeria) and maple trees, preceeded by a torii and a double bridge. In the distance, Mount Hiei among banks of mist.

On the back of the lid and the inside of the box, a continuous landscape showing a hut with a water-wheel on the Shirakawa River.
