Descriptif:

Of potiche form, with heavy foot and recessed base; shallow domed cover with knob in form of a lion. Whitish porcelain with translucent, lustrous grey-green glaze, the base glazed, the foot burnt red. Carved in relief round the sides are eight panels with sprays of peach and pomegranate alternating with Chinese characters; above the foot is a border of broad leaves. On the cover the same four characters are incised and reserved in unglazed biscuit, burnt orange-red, with 'cash' pattern and quatrefoil panels in the glazed areas between. The lion knob also is in biscuit. The inscription reads mei jiu qing xiang or 'excellent wine, clear and fragrant'.

Commentaire:

Les caractères volontairement laissés en biscuit sur le couvercle signifient : « Vin délicieux, pur et parfumé » 美酒清香.
