Subject/design:

Seated woman with a basket in front of her.

The God Ebisu (Ebi no kami 笑姿神), from the series Impersonations of the Seven Gods of Luck (Mitate shichifukku 見立七福神). All the prints of this series by Gakutei illustrate women as representations of the Seven Gods of Luck, all in some way alluding to the traditional emblems identifying them. The fish in the basket alludes to the god of prosperity Ebisu 恵比須.
