   Chinese records dated 1522 mention an order made by the court for one hundred and eighty jue libation cups of this type, with matching saucers.

4. Eight-lobed dish 八寶與雙龍紋盤

   Ming dynasty, mark and reign of Longqing 隆庆 (1567-1572)

   Rim decorated with radiating panels depicting the auspicious “Eight Precious Objects” 八寶: coral, the ruyi motif 如意, an artemisia leaf, a coin, flaming pearls, a diamond, an ingot, and a pair of rhinoceros horns.
