Yellow and green enamels, “famille noire” and underglaze blue painted porcelain 青花、琺瑯彩與黑地綠彩瓷器

Porcelain from the Jingdezhen kilns 景德鎮窯, Jiangxi Province 江西省, Qing dynasty 清代 (1644-1911).

  1. Bowl with green and yellow-glazed dragon design 黃地綠彩龍紋碗

    This bowl is a perfect example of imperial tableware.
  2. Dish painted in underglaze blue and green enamel with dragon design 青花綠彩龍紋大盤

    The dragons were originally five-clawed, but on each foot the innermost claw was subsequently overpainted in black enamel. This form of deletion is not uncommon, and was apparently required in circumstances where the piece was considered to be no longer destined for the emperor’s use.
