Description:
The child stands holding a puppet doll; a puppet horse lies on a cushion at its feet. With full-length robe, and hair dressed in two top knots. The figure is hollow, with roughly-filled base. Light buff stoneware with a cream slip and glaze overpainted in yellow, red and green enamels, the patterns of the robe and other details being executed in black.
Comments:
The term Cizhou is used to denote a wide variety of stoneware with various decorations. The kilns are spread over a wide area and mainly provide the local population with practical objects for everyday use.
